2. California Earned Income Credit (CalEITC)
To qualify for the California Earned Income Credit (CalEITC), you must be at least 18 years old, or you have a qualifying child. In tax year 2021, you can have income up to $30,000 to qualify for the CalEITC . File your state taxes on a form 540 or 540 EZ. You can get CalEITC if you have a Social Security Number or if you have an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.)

Young Child Tax Credit
If you are eligible for the CalEITC and you have a child who is under 6 years old as of December 31, 2021, then you also qualify for the Young Child Tax Credit. The YCTC amount is up to $1000. You can get this when you file on the 540 or 540 EZ form for state taxes.
