CalWORKs Housing Support Program [HSP]:
HSP is a voluntary program available for eligible CalWORKs recipients living in Sacramento County. Receiving HSP will not change your CalWORKs grant
Benefits:
- Rent deposits
- Rent: 80% of household income
- Utility deposits
- Overdue utility bills
- Rent subsidies: Up to 5 months
- Vendor payments
- Case management services to help families stay in their housing
- Help finding housing
HSP will not be issued if:
- You find housing outside or move out of Sacramento County
- You move out of housing after a housing payment has been made
- Your family become ineligible for the CalWORKs program
- You do not find approvable housing
- You do not cooperate with the rules of the HSP program
- Funding for HSP services is no longer available
