CalAIM
CalAIM is the name for new services in Medi-Cal that provide “Enhanced Care Management.” It is not a separate program to apply for, but a way of getting more help through Medi-Cal that helps a person’s health improve, even if it is not medical services (such as housing.) These services are aimed at people who are in need of extra care including:
- Homeless persons
- People who are at risk of becoming homeless
- Persons with Serious Mental Illness
- Persons with Substance Use Disorder
- Children with serious emotional disturbance (SED)
- Children with complex medical conditions, such as cancer, epilepsy, or congenital heart disease
- Children and youth in foster care
- Persons with substance use disorder with co-occurring chronic health conditions
- Individuals transitioning from incarceration
