If you are applying for CalWORKs, you may be able to get “immediate need” money to pay for your delinquent utility bills. (See CalWORKs “Immediate Needs”)
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) offers the Energy Assistance Program Rate (EAPR) which gives a 30% discount for low income customers.
