WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?
If you think you should be getting any of these benefits and are not, you can ask for a state hearing, or call Legal Services of Northern California at (916) 551-2150 even if you did not get a notice denying benefits.
Every child who is under the supervision of CPS has an attorney. Know who the attorney is and call him/her with any questions or concerns about the child’s needs. To find out who the child’s attorney is, call the Children’s Law Center of California, Sacramento Office at (916) 520-2000. Ask the social worker or the attorney to let you know when a court hearing is scheduled. Foster parents can attend all court hearings but cannot speak unless approved by the judge.
